I am a registered and insured psychosynthesis counsellor, having completed a three year training at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London. Alongside my therapeutic practice I have run a drum teaching school based in East Sussex for 20 years.
Over the years I have worked with many music students including children, young people and adults. Including neurodiverse students and young people living in foster care. The regular lessons and engagement between teacher and student became a safe space for students to unburden themselves and share news of their week. I was often left feeling that I had been trusted with very personal stories of struggle or challenges. These experiences inspired me to train and qualify as a counsellor, having personally found counselling to be a positive opportunity for change.
I have also trained with Cruse, an organisation of volunteers supporting people who have experienced bereavement. Their mission is to work towards “A world where everyone grieving is supported, respected and understood”.
A description of the sort of counselling you offer.
I offer an integrative, transpersonal approach to therapy which incorporates an holistic view to supporting an individual’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health.
Sharing our stories and struggles can take great courage, my aim is to help put you at ease as you begin your counselling journey in a non-judgemental, confidential and safe space. During your sessions I will work to support you as you explore your thoughts and feelings, with the focus of moving towards and connecting to a sense of your fullest potential and authentic self.
Once we have made contact via email or telephone, we will arrange to meet for our first session together. This is a space for you to ask questions about what to expect from our time together and for me to form a picture of what has lead you to explore counselling.
This initial session will give us the opportunity to get to know each other and decide whether we would like to work together further.
