Sara Canner
Sara uses a foods-first approach. Dietary changes and new lifestyle habits are sometimes all that’s needed to resolve a health problem or ease symptoms of a chronic disease. But she may also recommend vitamin, mineral or botanical supplements to treat a deficiency or where supplementation may be helpful, and laboratory tests if appropriate.
Sara graduated from the College of Naturopathic Medicine with a Diploma with Distinction in Naturopathic Nutrition and is a registered nutritional therapist.
Like many nutritional therapists, Sara entered the profession after spending long hours researching her own health concerns and those of her family, and she has been passionate about helping clients improve their health through nutrition ever since.
She is trained in biomedicine and pathologies and sees people with a broad range of illnesses. For others, it’s more a case of wanting to boost general health and energy levels. There is an overwhelming amount of nutrition advice on social media these days, but achieving optimal health relies of knowing which recommendations are right for you. Nutritional therapy is all about looking at the individual, identifying root causes of problems and personalising the support.
One of Sara’s specialist areas of interest is gut heath. She is a certified practitioner with Digestion with Confidence, a national register of certified experts who help clients manage acid reflux, with or without acid-lowering medications, and other digestive conditions. She also studied with the Monash University in dietary support for IBS using the Low FODMAPS diet.
Sara loves keeping up to date through continual study and has additional training in female health, brain health, the immune system and in pharmaceutical drug-nutrient interactions.
She is registered with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
Sara offers a free 15-minute introductory telephone call for new clients. For best results she prefers to see clients more than once so she offers packages of 3, 6 or 9 appointments spread across 12 weeks, or a time-frame that’s tailored to provide the right level of support. The new patient consultation fee is redeemable off the cost of the 3, 6 or 9 personalised nutrition programmes below, which are spread over 12 weeks.
Her starter Bronze package consists of 1 x 90-minute initial consultation, and two 45-minute follow-ups. Price £345. Payment can be spread across instalments. Get in touch with Sara for more information.
